Summer Smörgåsbord

We took the kids to their first Tigers game with the cousins and Gma and Gpa Rapp.
The kids and cousin Carraig.
Uncle Ryan and my Papa came to visit and we had lots of QT in the lake! It's been HOT!
We had our annual summer bash and Sawyer turned blue. It was from a sno cone and my neighbor actually got the blue dye out of his shirt with some sort of magical laundry soap!
Audrey went to dance camp. Bet you can pic her out. Look closely for the blonde striking a pose!

Well, another summer has flown by, hence the appropriate title of the smörgåsbord (i'm pretty impressed my spell check figured that one out, accent marks and all). I haven't been good at updating because we have been so busy. Above are some of the things that have been going on with the Rapp Family.

Audrey starts school next Tuesday so stay tuned for some tearful posts on that subject.

Otsego Lake

Good Old Al's. The same candy store I used to go to as a kid.
Enjoying the very warm lake.
Audrey trying to learn to cast.
Loving our pie iron pizza's and camp fires.
Daddy and Audrey caught a small mouth bass.
Eating a smores.
Audrey learned to play chess and did a great job (although I don't know what she's playing here). I don't even know how to play!
Ben celebrated his 33rd bday on vacation.
Playing putt putt at Call of the Wallet.

We had such a great time last year at Arbutus Beach that we decided to go back again. We stayed at a different cottage this year, one right on the lake. That was very nice!

The weather was an improvement over last year but still not great. The lake was very warm since we've had such a hot summer. We had a long dock off our beach. It was only about 2 feet at the end of it so it was great for the kids.

The highlights of the week were: having campfires with pie iron pizzas, smores and wine, celebrating Ben's 33rd birthday, watching Audrey learn to play chess (and actually understand what she is doing), going in the paddle boat, watching Audrey and daddy fish, making sand castles with Sawyer, watching the bald eagles fly over the lake, watching the sunsets, going to Al's Candy Store, playing mini-golf at the same place I used to go when I was little, and just having lots of time with the whole family together without any interruptions!
