Balloon Fest

The kids' favorite balloon.

Riding Dumbo - Why go to Disney when you can just drive to Howell and get the same thing for much cheaper?
This was the strangest carnival ride I have ever seen. I was very thankful Brad was will to be the adult to go with them. I don't like to spin.
Sawyer thought he was so cool riding by himself in this car. He smiled the whole time!

On Friday night we headed out to Howell for their Balloon Festival. It was a really fun night! First we watched while they launched about 30 or so hot air balloons. Then we took the kids to the carnival where they had tons of fun riding every ride that they were allowed to go on due to height restrictions. After the carnival we stayed and watched the fireworks. That was the kids' first time to watch an actual fire works show. Since it stays light until after 10:00 we've never been brave enough to take them.

On a related but different subject - The carnival gave myself, Ben, Brandy and Brad some great inspiration for our outfits to wear to our neighborhood party on Saturday night. Check back for some very entertaining photos. Can you guess what kind of party we had?

Safety Town

I'm not sure if any of you remember taking Safety Town when you were five. I remember it well and loved it. Audrey had her week of Safety Town last week, learning about all things related to safety and disasters. For some reason kids find these topics fascinating. Here are some pictures of her on her last day.
Singing The Wheels on the Bus
Singing some crazy song about water safety.
Officially a Safety Town graduate...what a big day!
Sawyer had been waiting to get his hands on these trucks all week. Finally on Friday the little ones got a turn. I did have to carry him out crying because he wanted to stay and play with the "tucks".

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy! We appreciate all you do for us every day!

We had a fun weekend celebrating. Obviously from the above picture you can tell we went to MSU. There were signs of love for Izzo all over the place. Everyone is very happy with his decision to stay with the Spartans. We had to stop at the rock for this photo op. The kids were a little confused about why we made them hop out of the car to take a picture in front of a big rock but they'll understand when they're older, they are future Spartans and all!

Preschool Graduation

Audrey's teachers: Mrs. Zachar and Mrs. Layton
Audrey's 4 year old preschool class.
Audrey's buddies - Alex, Abby and Evan (Audrey thinks she's going to marry Alex. Hopefully he stops crying everyday by the time they get married!)

It is hard for me to believe that Audrey is done with preschool! Next year it's on to "real school" as she calls it. She is more than ready, already reading at a mid first grade level and doing simple math. She'll love all the fun art stuff they do in K as well. Kindergarten will be 2 full days and one half day. I think she'll be bored at home the 2 full days she has off. Audrey loves everything about school. I know Kindergarten is going to be a wonderful experience for her.

I'm Wearing My Sunglasses

We all remember some of Ben's fashion statements in the past - orthopedic velcro shoes, green bean jacket, Mr. Roger's jacket, giant white Casio watch, the Pistons windbreaker from 1984, the Ladies Puma jacket, giant black Wal-Mart sunglassees...the list could go on and on. Below are pictures of his latest purchase. You be the judge...which ones are acceptable to wear in public?
Bad
Worse
There aren't even words to describe these ones.
