Catching Up

We've been to busy to update much lately. Here's some recent pics of the kids. Blogger is acting funny so I can't write captions under the pictures for some reason.
We went to Gurnsey's in honor of Uncle Ryan's first place of employment. Sawyer thoroughly enjoyed his ice cream. I was impressed with how much he actually got in his mouth. Why isn't he that neat with his veggies?
Unfortunately the summer weather has been terrible. I can't remember worse weather in the month of July. We had to spend more time than I like in the house so you can see the kids getting creative with Mr. Potato head parts.
On one of our few nice days we went out to East Lansing to meet one of my favorite college friends, Jeri, and her two boys Ryan and Caleb. Ryan and Audrey are both four and had tons of fun at the water park. They had an awesome zero entry pool with a slide for the little kids, other water features, a splash pad, and a giant sand area. I love the picture of Sawyer with the sand castle. He did that all by himself and he was so proud. He's tried lots of times and was never successful until that day.
We're headed up north next week for what we thought would be a beach vacation. I checked the forecast and it's 70 and rain Sun-Tues. It looks like we'll be finding other things to do in the wilderness. Any ideas? Let me know.

Megan and Paul's Wedding

Groovy!
Denver sky punch dance..very entertaining.
Ryan and mom on the dance floor.
Tipsy?
Family pic with the 4 kids.
The happy couple, me and Paul's brother (Jason).
I love this one...Daddy-Daughter dance.
Waiting for the limo before the ceremony.
Generally speaking, weddings are fun to attend. But when you go to a wedding and know that the couple is perfect for one another, it makes the occasion even more joyous. Megan and Paul are so well suited for each other! It was great to see how happy they were together on their big day.
The ceremony was at Mill Race in Northville followed by the reception at St. John's. The dinner at the reception was great and the bar was awesome as well =-) The had a really fun band and we stayed on the dance floor all night.
It was fun to meet all of Megan and Paul's friends from Denver and NY. They were a wild and crazy bunch and we all had tons of fun together. So much so that I left my camera in the bar at St. John's forcing me to take the walk of shame a few days later to retrieve it, thus the long wait for the posting of pictures.
Congrats to Megan and Paul! I know your lives will be filled with love, laughter and happiness and hopefully lots of babies (hint-hint).

Fourth of July in Pentwater

First time to play putt-putt

Enjoying a nice meal of sand.

Show off

First dip in Lake MI and it was COLD!

Sparklers

Ben's 1 lb burger that he ate in less than 10 minutes.

Poor Brad, being attacked by noodles and kids.

Audrey and Tyler's first sleepover.
Thanks to Brad's parent's we were able to spend the 4th of July weekend up north at their home in Pentwater. It was a great house with bed's for all of us! Audrey and Tyler were so excited to be able to share a room. They stayed up late talking and reading. Audrey also got caught on numerous occasions trying to convince Tyler to come into her bed. It was very humorous.
The weather pretty much sucked the whole time but there was a very warm heated pool and the kids didn't mind that it was in the 60s because they kept the pool at 85. On the 4th we went to the beach. I couldn't put more than my big toe in Lake MI. I really think it wasn't much over 60 degrees. The kids didn't mind though. They played in the sand for hours and managed to get in the lake a little bit.
We spent much of the weekend just hanging out, eating (as you can see from Ben's burger), drinking (too much), playing Rock Band and sitting around the campfire. The kids loved the sparklers and s'mores, although the adults did too =-)
Hope you all had as fun of a holiday weekend as we did!
