VIP Night and Chatterbox

Last week Audrey had VIP night at preschool. VIP night is when you get to bring guests to school who don't usually get to visit. I am there all the time so I was the lucky one to stay with Sawyer while Ben and my parents headed off for 2 hours of preschool fun. Audrey was very excited to show Daddy and Grandma and Papa around her school. They ate dinner at school, pizza and salad. Ben said Audrey was one of the only preschoolers to eat the salad. My dad said after that they did a different activity every 10 minutes. That's what it takes to keep a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds entertained. In the pictures you can see Audrey doing one of her favorite preschool things, dressing up in the crazy dress up clothes they have there. About once a month the clothes disappear due to a lice scare in one of the classes. Then after being thoroughly fumigated, they return. I try to discourage the dress up clothes but I just can't keep her away from them.

Sawyer was being mildly cooperative the other day and I captured him saying some of his words. He probably has about 20 or so now. Many of them are in his own, made up language but Audrey and I can understand him. Other than his new vocab development there isn't much else to report. Still eats good, doesn't nap good (actually he's screaming upstairs as I type), sleeps great at night, climbs and is VERY stubborn. Lately he only wants to play outside and is getting harder and harder to entertain in the house. Too bad for me that it snowed last night!

Welcome Baby Boy Ward!

Baby Ward made his entrance into the world 10 days early, on Thursday, March 19 at around 7:00pm. He weighs 5 lbs 5 oz and is 18 in. I have been to the hospital twice to see him and although he is small he looks perfect. He has cute chubby cheeks, a good amount of light brown hair and a little dimple. The baby is still nameless since he came earlier than anticipated. He looks just like Tyler did and is very cute. Audrey was so excited to meet him and held him for a LONG time! Great job and Congratulations Brandy, Brad and Tyler!

War Paint?

Audrey: "Mom, you go play with Tyler and I'll watch Sawyer."
Me: "OK" but thinking "I wonder what she's up to."
2 minutes later......
Me: "What on earth happened to Sawyer."
Audrey: "I decorated him."
Not really sure what possessed her to do this but in Audrey's mind everyone needs to be fancy so I guess she thought Sawyer just needed a little makeover.
In the other picture you can see that Sawyer is now officially eating at the table and making as big of a mess as ever. I got so sick of looking at that high chair for the past 3 3/4 years that I just decided he was ready for a booster seat, even if he is messy. I have a feeling the kid will always be a messy eater. I guess it's kind of my fault since I'm the one that let him have a big scoop of Cool Whip on his plate. He sure did enjoy though!
Sorry this looks messed up. Once again, blogger sucks!

YEAH Spring!

Watching the game from his bleacher seat!
Doing the parachute at Abby's 4th birthday party.

She did an impressive job on the rings.

Sawyer of course loved the party since he could climb on everything and have a padded surface to land on!
We've had some great weather over the past few days. Ben got out the rickshaw and took the kids around the block a few times. Don't mind Sawyer's princess bike helmet. It fits and he's not getting a new one until next year when he starts riding a bike. Both of the kids loved going for a ride and just playing outside all weekend. Sawyer is in his element when we're outside. He loves the playsets and just walking around in the grass. I'm sure he's forgotten all about what warm weather feels like. It's been almsot 4 1/2 months indoors so the warmth is very welcome. We won't put away the boots just yet though. We all now what happens in April in MI!
We've had a couple other things going on besides the nice weather. Audrey's had 2 birthday parties in the past couple weeks. Abby turned 4 and Jack turned 3. She loved doing gymnastics at Abby's and climbing all over at Jungle Java for Jack's.
We are super excited about the tournament. MSU is looking pretty good. Hopefully they don't disapoint. That other MI school actually made it to the tournmant for the first time in 11 years. We won't be routing for them though. Sawyer watched a lot of the Big Ten Tourney from his "bleacher seat". He climbs up on Audrey's table and watches the TV from there. Basketball games and dog shows are the only two things he'll watch on TV. When he watches basketball he just says, "Ball, ball, ball..." over and over and pretty much does the same with the dog show but obviously says "Zo, Zo, Zo, Zo..." over and over (his word for dog is Zo Zo).
GO GREEN!!!

We've got some issues...

Contortionist Baby
Why don't these fit my 85% Pumpkin Head?

So Sad!
Sawyer's life has been interesting lately, to put a positive spin on things. He's had a cough for a few weeks. They put him on antibiotics, his first time, and they worked. But 2 days later the cough came back with even worse. He is now on a nebulizer 4 times a day. He tolerates it pretty well. I think the thing is a piece of crap and is doing NO help. Whatever happened to some really strong meds? We'll give it two more days and see, then it's back to the dr. Wish him well!
