Audrey Lays An Egg

Three Times A Lady

What Is This Stuff?

We started rice cereal today. I was going to wait until he was 5 months but Audrey and I were bored today so he decided to see if he liked it. We needed a change of routine since this winter is going on forever! He actually ate almost all of what I made for him. He did a lot of making faces and spitting it out but I just kept shoveling it back into his mouth. By the end I think he kind of liked it. He did a lot better than Audrey did her first time. We'll see how he does next week when I start vegetables. That's the true test.

Easter Day

We hope everyone had a nice Easter. Audrey had a blast finding her eggs from the bunny. Next year she will have to share with Sawyer so we'll see how that goes over. Grandma and Grandpa Rapp came out for the weekend. Aunt Barbie, Great Grandma and Uncle Rob came over for Easter dinner. Audrey loved all the company and kept asking where all her friends went after everyone went home.

If you're wondering if Sawyer is still sleeping in his swing the answer is yes. He cried for an hour and a half straight last night, actually screamed, not cried. I couldn't take it anymore so back to his swing he went. I know people swear by the cry it out method but it is too hard to hear a 4 month old cry for that long. I can take 20-30 minutes but an hour and a half is torture for all involved. Now Ben and I are trying to figure out how to get a swing down to Orlando for our vacation. Any ideas?

On a happier note, we are all excited that the Spartans made it to the Sweet 16. You can see Sawyer in the picture below wearing some of his Spartan gear with Grandpa. I had too many pictures to put on one post so the rest of the Easter ones are below.

Easter Egg Madness

We had an Easter egg filled day today. Our neighborhood had an egg hunt this morning where Audrey achieved quite a sugar high. All the kids had a great time searching for eggs in the model home in our subdivision. We told Audrey it was a practice round for the real thing on Easter morning. The bottom picture is Audrey's masterpieces. This was the first year she was old enough to do the dying on her own.
Well Spartans tip off in 7 minutes so we'll post more pics tomorrow of our Easter Day. The blood pressure of the Rapp household is about to rise to a dangerous level. GO GREEN!!!

Fascinating Feet and Crib Woes

Sawyer has had some new recent developments. Last week he discovered his feet. He loves to play with them and tries to chew on them. They have provided hours of entertainment for Sawyer and the rest of us. He also has started making the raspberry sound and blows major bubbles. He is a very vocal baby.

The other pictures are of him in his dreaded crib (notice the cute shirt with his name on it. My friend Michele in Germany got that for him. I'm sure it will be the only thing he'll ever own with his name on it). We have been trying unsuccessfully to get him to sleep in his crib. He took an hour nap in it today but cried for 45 minutes last night before I moved him back to his swing. He doesn't like to actually swing in his swing, just sleep. It's hard to give up on the swing, since he's still sleeping 11 hours in it but we're going to FL in April and the swing won't fit on the airplane. If it would I'm sure we'd bring it along. Tonight we'll try again, wish us luck. It will be a night filled with crying from Sawyer and myself!

Three Little Leprechauns

This morning I was reminiscing about St. Patrick's Day in the good old days at MSU. As many of my fellow Sparties will remember we used to get up at 6:30, go to Crunchy's and drink our green beer. Today, we're all up at 6:30 but for very different reasons. All three of the kiddos are looking cute and festive in their St. Paddy's green. I still have never accomplished the impossible feat of getting all 3 of them to look at the camera and smile at the same time. In this picture Audrey looks like she's already been at Crunchy's for 3 hours! Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Sawyer Update

We had our 4 month check up at the doctor's today. Sawyer weighs 15 lbs 9 oz and is 25 1/2 inches long. He's gained 8 lbs since birth and grown 4 1/2 inches. It just seems impossible to grow so much in only 4 months. Audrey was 15 lbs 11 oz and 26 1/2 inches at 4 months, so she out weighed Sawyer, we won't tell her that though.

He didn't get any shots today, just the rota vaccine, which is something they drink. We reached our cap on our insurance for well baby check ups so I guess going to the health dept. is a lot cheaper. This was fine with me since I have been procrastinating the shots anyways, now it's just another reason to wait longer. I think we're going to get just the DTaP next week. I'm sure he'll scream, as he is a screamer, but they all get over it. We'll keep you all updated on any new developments.

Chuck E Cheese

**This post looks funny because the blog site was having problems uploading.

I'm sure many of you remember the joy of going to Chuck E Cheese as a kid. Experiencing it as an adult is quite a different adventure. The place always seemed huge when I was little but now I realize just how small that place is. Only time will tell what nasty diseases Audrey picked up in that place. As you can tell by the pictures, none of that bothered her. We went to Check E Cheese for her friend Abby's 3rd birthday party. It was a huge hit in Audrey's book and she now wants to have her party there. She loved Chuck E and was following him around.
The first picture is Audrey on her favorite clock ride. Many of you know her love/hate relationship with clocks - "Clocks are creepy", "Clocks are my friends", "Hurry, hurry clocks donging" etc. It all started with Cinderella. I'm sure she never thought she would get to ride on a clock. The second picture is Audrey with the Birthday Girl, Abby. The third is her with Chucky after she hunted him down so Ben could take a picture. And the 4th one is her getting ready for the party by putting on eyeshadow.

Sawyer is 4 Months!

We can't believe it's true but Sawyer is already 4 months old! I don't have his stats because his doctor appointment isn't until this week, I thought it was last week. This post will be continued after his appt. In the meantime, his favorite activities are sitting and playing in his exersaucer, sucking on his hands, sleeping in his swing, listening to me sing songs, watching Audrey and Tyler run around (he probably wonders why he can't do that), listening to my hairdryer/vacuum, taking a bath and making a lot of funny noises and giggles. His least favorite activities are being on his belly, being on his playmat (which is weird for me because Audrey loved it), getting held by strangers, and having his nose messed with (the kid is a bugger factory). I will update you all on his weight/height and shots after his appt. My guess is 16 lbs and 26 inches.

Priceless Laugh

Here is a clip of Sawyer laughing. He's been doing it for a while but this was the first time I had time to capture it on camera. For some reason he finds being startled very funny. He also laughs at Zoe running around and sometimes he laughs at Audrey. He usually laughs when I sing "Patty Cake". Hearing the little laughs makes the crying much more tolerable. Enjoy!

Exersaucer Excitement

Sawyer was getting bored with his playmat so we brought out the old exersaucer this weekend. It was very interesting because he did exactly what Audrey did the first time she went in it. He laughed out loud at the spinning toys with the beads inside them. I'm not sure if they both laughed because the noise of the beads startled them or they genuinely find it funny. Who can ever tell what a baby is thinking about??? I'm sure some very interesting things are going on in their rapidly developing brains. The second picture is Sawyer holding his first football. We use it to prop him up since he likes to be in the sitting position. I think he has a very strong back for a not even 4 month old!

He goes for his 4 month check up at the end of the week. So we will update you on how that goes.
