Never Borrow Money From a Three Year Old......

Taking after her Uncle Ryan, Audrey likes to save her money. She knows the names of the coins and especially loves the "money that is paper and will rip if I step on it." I borrowed 2 singles from her piggy bank to pay for a tip for the JJ delivery guy. The next day she was counting her money and noticed that some "paper money" was missing. I swear I was going to give it back! She was SO mad. She probably asked me 15 times if we could go find the delivery guy to get her money back. I didn't have any one dollar bills to repay her and I was scared if I gave her my 20 I'd never get it back! Who would have ever guessed???

She also informed me that when we go to Disney World she wants me to pay because she doesn't want to give anyone her money. She told me that when she's old, she is never going to give any one her money. Either she's going to be a really good klepto or a really good mooch!

On another funny note, Audrey also asked me, "When is my sweet tooth going to come back. Because a sweet tooth is the best kind of tooth in the world." I have to agree with her on that one.

And finally, one last Audreyism. She wanted to know where her "flowers" (weeds) went that she brought in the house. I told her that they died and we would have to get new ones from outside. She told me that she wanted the old ones back and they could come back from the dead because Jesus could come back from the dead. I guess we've read the Easter Story one too many times and need to do a little more explaining! Explaining religious issues to a 3 year old can be interesting!

We leave for Orlando in 2 days! Wish us luck on the plane with a crazy 17 month old!

Yee HAW!

The Rapp Family gained a new member this week. Ben has a new baby...a John Deere Lawn Tractor (not lawnmower, I've been corrected many times). This piece of equipment is going to make Ben's life much better. No more 2 hour lawn cutting jobs every 5 or 6 days. Now he can sit on his "tractor" and drink a beer while cutting the grass in 40 minutes.

You may notice Sawyer is not in the picture. He was clinging to me instead. He is fond of the tractor from afar but doesn't like to get too close because of the noise. Here's to a happy summer full of grass mowing without sweating!

Just Say No To Yellow

Situation earlier this morning...

Me: "Here are your clothes for school."

Audrey: "I don't like those clothes."

Me: "Why not?"

Audrey: "It's not pink. It's yellow. Yellow makes me NERVOUS! I only like to wear pink."

Me: "This is what you're wearing or else you can go to school in your pj's."

Luckily she didn't want to wear the pj's, not sure what I would have said if she would have taken that offer. She very rarely questions my clothing choices for her. Today gave me insight into the years to come!

Happy Easter!

The Fam and G-parent pics...

Audrey was quick to find the eggs this year.

"Get these stupid things off my head!"

Double fisted with jelly bean in mouth.

Audrey and the eggs she dyed all by herself.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with their families. We spent the weekend with Ben's parents at our house. The kids were very happy to have their Grandma and Papa here to play with them.
It was tons of fun watching the 2 kids find their eggs. Although Audrey was faster than Sawyer he found a lot of eggs all by himself. Once he discovered what was inside you couldn't hold him back.
After the egg hunt we had a nice brunch at our house. I'm still full from the massive amount of cinnamon rolls that I consumed throughout the day. Tomorrow it's off the sugar for ALL of us!

April Madness

Somebody, make it stop!! Yesterday I was working in my flower beds pulling up the dead leaves, and then BAM, six inches of snow! Not yet understanding the concept of spring, Audrey and Sawyer were both excited to see the snow this morning. I wanted to scream and go back to bed. I guess we made the most of it. I blew the innertube sled back up, almost killing myself, got the kids all bundled up, again, almost killing myself and then, 30 minutes later, we all headed out. I don't make big snowmen like Ben does but mine are pretty cute. Audrey helped paint our Spartyman with her fingerpaint.

They had as many runs on the sled down our hill as I could handle and we had hot cocoa, a little strange for April. I figure the workout I got on the sledding hill will allow me to eat extra cheese sticks during the big game tonight! Hopefully this snow shocked the Tarheels and their thin blood! GO GREEN!

Easter Egg Hunts 1 & 2

Egg hung at preschool.

Audrey's preschool class.

So far we've attended 2 egg hunts in preparation for the real one on Easter morning. Audrey's school had one on Thursday. It was outside so it wasn't much of a hunt. The eggs were just scattered around in the grass but it was still cute to watch. Audrey was a little disappointed that her eggs didn't have candy, darn kid with peanut allergies.
The second egg hunt was in our neighborhood. My neighbors and I had the fun assignment of hiding 230 eggs in the model home for 23 children under five! It was a cute thing to watch. Sawyer found one egg and was happy with that. Audrey found all ten of hers and was much happier with the outcome being that each egg was filled with delicious candy!
